Polyphenols use is growing rapidly, according to a new market study by Grand View Research. The global market for polyphenols is expected to top 1 billion U.S. dollars by 2020, according to Grand View Research. The study notes that green tea polyphenols are experiencing the fastest growth, with an estimated compounded annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.9 percent between 2014 and 2020. The study noted that green tea contains large amounts of polyphenolic content such as catechins and flavenols, which are associated with numerous health benefits.

Polyphenols use is growing rapidly due to increasing use by the food industry of both green tea and grape seed polyphenols, according to this new study. The Grand View study follows a study issued by the same firm in January that documents the rapid growth of  tea polyphenols, declaring that  tea polyphenols have emerged as “the neutraceutical of modern life.” That study estimated that the tea polyphenols market would reach 367 million U.S. dollars by 2020.
